  • I'm begining to hate my new Festiva

Well I bought the red festiva a few months ago and slowly been getting it ready for daily use. New hoses, water pump, timing belt, front seal, plugs, wires.... Plus the hassle for the e-check.

The oil pan is very rusty and leaks and the coolant steel line is very rusty. So tonight I decided to change them. Easier to remove the down pipe to get to everything. Well all 3 bolts broke off the manifold. One oil pan bolt was already snapped off. 3 more broke off and 1 rounded off.

I have another engine in the garage with 115,000 miles. I'll swap all the new parts to it and switch them out. So I have Friday off and now I have to swap a motor.

I can be mad. Took this Friday off to sleep in, relax, and get ready. Now this. I should be able to get it out in an hour or so then an hour to switch everything over. Should be able to wrap it up in 5-6 hours. I may leave work 4 hrs. early to get started. Can't work on it Thursday evening much due to a prior appointment.

I know the feeling... I still can't make my new silver car go... the fuel pump was bad (sitting for 7 years will do that). I have the old motor from little blue in there, but I bought a pump at the jy and tested it there... it worked... got it home... now it doesn't work... but thats the beauty of having more than one festy... drive one till the other works, then the first one breaks again!
            No festiva for me ATM...

Well Matt's new girl is one of those girls that come into a established group wanting all the attention. Those are the worst.

3.5 hours start to finish today and the other engine is in. Runs poor but I think I have 2 wires crossed. I put the new distributor, rotor, cap and wires on and they didn't match the order on the original engine. So I'll mess with it later.

This is the 1st time I ever put a b3 in a faestiva.

Clogged injector, this engine has sat for a year and a half. I checked the wires and they were good. I threw in the newer plugs and no difference so I pulled 1 wire at a time to see if there were any changes. When I did #1 the engine ran the same, pulled the plug and no fuel smell. I swapped out the fuel rail and injectors and runs fine.

It was the hardest oil pan change I've ever done.

if it makes you feel any better I'm swapping engines from my white to my red one, since the white on had a ride height problem, and the red's trany is broke.
