Remove console from escort, take the middle bracket from the escort as this holds the 2 pc console together. You may want the others, but, this is what I did.
Front bracket looked useless, made my own from a piece of aluminum from a for sale sign. (pic)Used middle bracket, drilled and screwed to floor. Did not use rear bracket, as it was stable without it. I have the cable type seatbelt catches so I made a single cut with sheet shears to the seatbelt cutouts on the escort console that formed a "T" so I could get the belt catch thru. (Not needed if 90-93 style) Had to shape the bottom of the console where it sits on the floor a little as it rocked back and forth (like a rocking chair).
I cut a radius using a pencil and string to get it to "sit" correctly on floor. not sure anymore what radius it was but prolly around 20 inch radius. i do remember it took off around 5/16-3/8 material on rad about a foot long area. then it sit good and didnt rock (like a rocking chair)
Took under an hour to install with the shaping of the bottom and making bracket
I have a Protege sliding cupholder that fits in gap between dash and console. Pics when/if I get it in
