  • Sent my aspire hubs out for rebuilding

well im going for the longest aspire swap in the history books, i finally got my knuckles and hubs boxed up and shipping them to bill lewis for rebuilding. i talked to him on the phone for a while great guy and seems to really know alot! i had to order new shims from kia due to me loosing them. he had me order 4 differnet sizes which he said where the most common which was #10,11,12,13. i sanded blasted the knuckles and brake shields they look like new!. i am using 2003 kia rio hubs which are studed and are identical in size to the aspire hubs. i cant wait to get them back and ill take more pictures

im pretty much supplying him with all the parts, but i think he only charges like 150 a knuckle which includes sand blasting, painting, new timkin bearings and assembly. dont quote me on that but its worth every dollar i will probably have 400 bucks in these knuckles when finished maybe more

I thought Rio hubs have a different spline count.

We worked out a deal with the shims and the old hubs in exchange that was agreeable to us both. Also, the parts were cleaned and painted with POR 15. I love clean parts for assembly work.
I usually estimate between 80-100 a side plus shipping. The dis-assembly, cleaning, sandblasting and painting takes a while. I don't have the sandblaster here, and I have to give someone something for that. I wanted to get some hubs to rebuild so I can have them here, I have one pair and will be getting one more soon. Then I have to invest in some bearings and seals before I blast and clean and paint and assemble another set.
At three to four sets per year I have yet to get rich at it. LOL

I had a very positive experience doing the set and thank you for the thumbs up Rick!!
                      it runs so sweet
