I had problems with the front end. I wanted to use the Festiva / Aspire rack with Aspire tie rods but had to mate them to the SHO Taurus spindles. After some measuring it turned out the Aspire ball joints are 7 degrees and the SHO is drilled for 10 degrees. I turned a set of tapered bushing on the lathe , they took about 20 minute each to do.

Now I have everything mocked up, AGAIN

I think I need to space the front wheels out about 1 inch per side and still need to drop the front about 1 inch.

Now that I have cleared most of the mechanical hurdles I can take it all apart and blast all the parts and start painting. I have some stuff to do to the motor and tranny while its out . Once all that's done it wiring, fuel lines, brake lines hook up the shifter. Next comes the fender flares and custom front bumper.

        front 16x7 205 50 16
        rear 17x9 245 40 17

The 50 series in the front and 40 series in the back end up having the same side wall height, although next time I will go to a 45 series up front for a little more clearance.

those rear tires sit WAY out. I'm interested to see what you do with the flares. What did you have to clear out of the front to fit that tire?

So far the front tires fit okay. In the pics the rotors are not installed so they will stick out further plus I plan to install a 1" spacer. I did have to leave out the plastic inner fender and roll the rear inner fender seam ( back by the door sill) just to be safe. The fender has been trimmed also for clearance but it will get a mild flair up front.

The rear will simply have some big ass ugly SHOGUN style flairs.

I have been very busy, had to run to the florida key a couple time and we are short people at work so I have been working 6-7 days a week, 10-12 hr shift.

Make for good project funds but killing my deadline.

I have been doing the major work at my place but have decided to bring it over to my girlfriends, ( we live 30 minutes apart and running back and forth is killing the project) I will get more work on it there. The only problem is she is a pack rat and you cant get into her garage , so I just finished building her a 18x8x8 shed to store her STUFF.

Nexy week MINIgun gets moved to its new location and Im back to work full steam ahead.. Oh ya it will be silver.

Well after some time off Im getting back to work on the Festiva. I have all the parts for my headers, the last parts just arrived, a set of 3-1 stainless merge collectors....

This week Im going to pick up a new welder, a smaller tig so I dont have to haul my crap all over the place.

I also picked up a aluminum flywheel and clutch set.

                              My "plan of the month"

Get the headers and exhaust finished , change out the clutch and get it running on the 3.0 and finish the 3.2 this winter.
