  • Under seat tray install

This is my first weekend off since starting the midnight shift. (11 pm -7am ). Its 11:00 pm and I guess Im up all night. Figured Id do the under seat tray upgrade. It started out more difficult then I was counting on. The tray has to be installed in just the right position to work properly. It has to be centered in the gap in the floor and not to low to drag on the floor and not to high to rub on the seat. Plus it only slides out four inches so it cant be to far forward or too far back. To top it off it cant interfere with the movement of the seat adjuster or tracks. So it was a challenge to get it positioned and mounted correctly. I just got past that stage with a test install, now to fab some brackets for the rear of the tracks which shouldnt be as hard. Anyway, some pics. Should have it wrapped up by sunrise. Guess I'll clean the dust out of the seat tracks too while Im at it. Didnt notice that until I posted the pics. BTW these are the aspire seats I installed on festiva tracks.

Nice! I've always wanted one, but of course cannot find one. I may have to fabricate my own version somehow.
If it has boobs or wheels, sooner or later you're going to have trouble with it.

I bet if someone sent me one i could swing a deal with our open mold plastics facility to make a couple hundred for the right price. I could probably have bracket made to..

All done, its about 4:00 am. Man I hate the night shift. Some more pics. Hopefully it will be a nice sunrise. I figured the under the seat tray would be an excellent place to hide any contraband. The cops would never think to look under the seat. :p Test drive was good no rattles, it locks in pretty tight.

PS DONT DRINK AND DRIVE !! I never left private property.

Sure could but i just sold mine and don't feel like making a mold off of the one I just sold. We have vaccum fiberglass forms and work also. I'm gonna talk to the supervisor on Monday. about all this.

Thanks Wes ! It just needs a drain hole for the melting ice.

Hey Bravekozak, hows it going ? I just checked on your rare parts post. Very nice. No need to list that tray on ebay .... install it. Sell it to me otherwise, or I'll trade you something. Wish I had a power steering pump and pulley.

Tonights project, a clock in blu. Man, its lonely this time of night (3:05am). Just me and the hoot owls. Im shooting for a finish time around daybreak again. Got some country music on, just cause it seems fitting.

                              quartz

I just picked up my FMS quartz clock yesterday in Port Huron minus the wiring. Please, tell me again where is the connector from. Otherwise, I will have to take my vernier with me until I find one.
