  • Might be building a AutoX festiva..

I plan on making my 90' L+ shell into a AutoX car, here is my progress so far.. This project will be a really slow one.

What I have to work with..

Removed the heater core, vent ducting, and insulation on the backside of the firewall.

Removed the metal frame on the backside of the dashboard.

Took all the un-needed stuff off the dashboard, now it's just the plastic, sure is alot lighter now!

    Installed

    Converted it to manual belts.

Heres a shot of everything that I removed today, most of it was behind the dash.

    Overall interior shot.

Not sure on the powerplant at the moment.. but I'm thinking maybe a B6-D, a friend of mine said his dad has a Capri in his backyard and I know where one is at a JY..

plenty of room for gauges in the dash now, lol.
Very cool project. I am too into my "creature comforts" with my car to cut it down to the bare necessities like this.
Good luck on the build, can't wait to see the finished project.

1993 Festiva L, aspire swapped, selling parts for a BP+T build.

I was talking to one of my friends about building the car, and he said he has a huge shop with a bunch of tools I could use to build the car, and he could also paint the car, and he can weld. So as soon as I get some extra $$ some real progress will prolly be made on the car.
