Walked around the junkyard the other day... Among other things (fuses, escort hatch/gas poppers, escort dome light, etc...) I picked up a horn from a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis.
It just so happens that my current DD ('93 Grand Marquis...) has a FANTASTIC, LOUD horn. It's simple to remove (one bolt from under the front bumper) so I grabbed one on the way out of the yard.
There was finally a break in the weather so I installed them today. Nothing special, I guess, but I need to do something to keep my interest in the Festiva! Just waiting to hear from xaero_81 about the engine.
Here's a video clip of the toot tooter. The high and low dual tone horns are separated and installed under each headlight behind the bumper (stock locations).
Linked to about a minute in so you don't have to listen to me blab...
Now let's hope I don't get another 'honking ticket' with it...
No, I'm serious. I received (and fought/won against) a 'misuse of horn' ticket...
