  • Interesting new discovery at the junkyard.

Heya, some of y'all might find this interesting. I discovered yesterday while wandering about PnP that the grilles on Volkwagen MK1 and MK2 Rabbits/Golfs, and VW Foxes are just about an exact fit for a Festiva.

Giving you any ideas? Think of those first and second gen VW Rabbits/Golfs with the single round headlights....

Speaking of that, I'm currently in the process of fabricating another set of round headlight adaptors. Anyone potentially interested?

I was hoping to do something similar when I get a festiva. using 4 5" headlights. like on a bmw, or in my case an isuzu impulse.

and make a custom grill and trim panel for it to work right.

Most of the gas boys here say the same thing. Whenever I stop for gas they ask if the car is a Mitsu or if the bumper came from a CN9A Mitsu Lancer, largely because of the louvers look similar to the Mitsu's.

One thing's for sure, it came from another Mazda! Nothing is impossible with the power of the imagination.

I think it's from a late 80's to early 90's Interplay Mazda 323 Protege, the Euro version (there is a provision for a towing hook that says "Abbshleppose"). What we did was cut the Protege bumper's lower half then graft it on the top part of the Kia Pride stock bumper, using rivets, some body filler, then finally finish it off with the paint. No need to cut the middle of the bumper to fit the width of the Pride. Hope I had answered your question.
I have the last laugh... ;D

Here in the Philippines we have lots of sources from surplus importers. Like they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure"
I don't get it why you don't have these parts on your side of the pond?
BTW, there are other body parts that are graftable to the Pride/Festiva. I have other friends that have undergone similar mods (I am already the 6th to have undergone this). Besides the bumper, I have nothing special to show, so I'd rather post pics of my friends' cars. But if the demand calls for it, please visit my multiply site jsenti.multiply.com and look for the KPC April 07 EB album.
                              For more pics...
