Drove my BP to work 4 days this week.

I've been driving a B6t car on and off for the past two weeks or so... gotta say, it is a bunch of fun! Still not quite as great as driving Skeeter, even if it is faster, but a lotta fun nonetheless.

i'm as dissapointed as you are, trust me. BUT, if i can get everything sorted before then, i'll try to convince her to let be borrow Kermit and bring him along with all the transplant goodies needed for an Auto BP swap... here's hoping.

Mexican food---lots of choices around here.

On the Border - near the meet site off Capital
El Dorado - Brentwood Road and Capital - chain Mexican, kinda dumpy because they are renovating, we eat there
Toreros - Atlantic Ave and Millbrook Road nicer place, decent food
Los Tres Vaqueros - Falls of Neuse road, not far from us. Not sure I have the name right, they changed it a few months back.

There's several others nearby. Couldn't name them all. Those are three of the closer ones. Actually never been to On the Border. Lines out the door the one time we were going to check them out and haven't been back. Depends on your tastes. Barb

For a nice birthday celebration, I would suggest Toreros, but if you don't mind a drive, there is a place near where I work called Mez that is excellent and not your standard Mexican. I haven't been there for dinner, but we go for lunches sometimes.

heading up there as soon as my gf gets out of school on thursday. its her birthday that fri. so where is there nice to eat around there? she likes mexican food... and what bout hotels? any ideas? i need to go ahead and book one

There's all the usual restaurant suspects around the Triangle Towne Center area, plus up & down Capital Blvd; not much of a drive to any one of them.

Fee for hanging from the rafters is free, but if you want to get down and walk around like the rest of us, it'll cost you an arm and a leg or your first born Festiva! Your choice. LOL

Lodging Options

The closest places to stay near the meet site in Raleigh are:

Hilton Garden Inn, 6412 Capital Blvd, Raleigh NC
Hampton Inn 3621 Spring Forest Road, Raleigh NC
Comfort Suites 4400 Capital Blvd, Raleigh NC

Those three places probably run 80-90 a night.

There is also a Super 8 at 3801 Capital Blvd, Raleigh NC.
It probably runs 50-60 a night.

It's not much farther away. We have a friend from Canada who has stayed there when he's visited and he liked it. I can't speak for the other places since I haven't had a reason to stay there.
