i just don't trust it and wouldn't have any way to pick it up if something did happen
i'll have to see what i have going on this weekend might be able to find a way down there
probably wouldn't be staying all day but might be there for a while
BTW, I had to swap a 4 speed into my car (Thanks Dean, RIP) and while loud, it does just fine on the hway!

I'd most likely come down if I didn't have my wife's family coming into town mid saturday. I am going to a JY and VIR South to watch a buddy do some racing/track day for a little bit.

and to those of you who may be aspire owners/know aspire owners in raleigh area, etc, I just listed most of my parts for the aspires I took apart yesterday too: http://lynchburg.craigslist.org/pts/1821635414.html

not very neat, I need to organize things much better but have been very busy, still need to go get all the parts I left down there in the woods home, doors, seats, hatch, dash, everything inside the dash, etc. lol.

OK, on the last page, Pu241 summed it up. My attendance depends on work. Let me go ahead and lay it out here.

We are remodeling our store. Many have taken vacation for this. I would have as well, but my sister is due in December, and I am saving Vacay time for THAT! So, I am expected to pick up the slack.

Ever had one of those nightmares that won't end, no matter how hard you pinch yourself? Yeah, like that. Dig this. We have to share a store with our closest Durham neighboring store. They fired EVERYONE their a couple of months ago! So, all their staff is pretty green, not to mention all but one are dumber than a box of rocks. Not kidding. English is everyone's first language there, but no one seems to understand it. So, I have to pick up a LOT of slack. I am not allowed to get overtime. I have been pushing to stay late the two nights I am not closing. Thus, I will be only 45 minutes away from 40 hours at close Saturday night. If my GM decides to juggle the schedule because he decides, at the last minute, that he just HAS to have me on a slow as heck 4th of July, I am screwed. So far, it has seemed to escape his attention, and I ain't calling it to me till VERY late Saturday night

So, if all goes according to plan, I will head out at either 3AM from Chapel Hill, or, more likely, 10 AM Sunday morning. If not, well, all you fun folks will have to suffer the severe depression caused by my lack of attendance

ALSO! I have a hood for Pu241. If anyone going will be passing through Chapel Hill, and will have room for it, contact me, and lets see if we can arrange pickup! He and I would appreciate it greatly! I can bring it if I can make it, but that is literally up in the air until Sunday AM, so KNOWING it can get there would be AWESOME!

Secondly, or thirdly, or whatever, I have lost count.... Will anyone attending happen to have a spare fuel injector? The one on my 2nd cylinder seems to have gone out. I am about 90% sure of this, having partially diagnosed the problem not more than half an hour ago, I have spark, but the cylinder is NOT firing! I don't have a second person awake to turn the key, nor can I find my danged multimeter, but it seems to be the only possibility, especially since the problem goes away at about 2,000 RPM. It would be pretty cool to get one from one of the gang than the JY....

Anywho, that is where I am at! If I don;t make it, Happy, HAPPY 4th to everybody!

This will be a good meet! Hanging at Sonic for a while talking, eating, looking at cars, then on to Will, Angie and their breed of festiva addicts home where more talking, eating, looking at cars and all around fun times will be had. You should really try to make it

You might consider a superposition of temporal and geographical coordinates resulting in two, or more vehicles with similar vector paths to Lincolnton.
In this way you and your vehicle enjoy a higher probability of arrival at the above mentioned location.

i know very very little about cars
there might not be anything wrong with it
i took a trip to hanging rock state park with it the other day
mostly back roads the way i went
i'd say 30-35 miles each way and had no issues whatsoever
i just worry about highway driving
i might plot out a backroads course where i can take longer and just enjoy the scenery

Hey Blade- if you have other issues, that's a good reason not to take the car on a road trip. It's important to have the mechanicals right. There are several on here who would agree from experience. It doesn't really matter what you drive, but there will be several people there with a lot of Festiva knowledge there and it would be good to get to know them if you could make it. If not, maybe you can make Festiva Madness in Raleigh in October.

according to what i looked up when i mapped it out it's
    1434 east main street
    Lincolnton, NC 28092

and there are other issues with the car which is why i may not trust it to do this drive... i'll think about it but might try to borrow another car to get down there
we'll see if i will even be free i won't know till tomorrow for sure

I won't be at 4thstiva due to having to work, (at least the last thing I was told Monday morning when I got off work). Unless something major has changed since then.
(Might have to head to Charlotte), I've been wanting to visit some of the race shops anyway! Ya'll have a good time this weekend!! Happy 4th to all!!
Yep, it's a pair of them. Can't remember if it's a set from one of my cars or a set from the jy...either way still a funtioning set.
Also, I found out today that I am definitely off on saturday and sunday so making the meet won't be a problem for me (except not having a festy!)

Edit: Angie or Will, do you have an address for the sonic so I can plug it into the gps? I've been there once before but really don't remember how I got there!

Pfft. My 4 speed has made the trip to Raleigh twice, and OSX. And a fair bit of that driving was, um, slightly faster than the law allows. Yeah, it's a bit louder than my 5 speed. But so what? As long as I don't let anyone I know follow me (Those who know, know why I say this). Tho, that problem is on its way to being a thing of the past.

Wish I could make it, but gotta work. Everyone have a great time, and I'll see you all in October, if not sooner.
