    This was submitted by Qaking,

Hot at all times - WHT/RED
Hot in run or ACC - BLU/YEL
    Interior lights - BLU/WHT & RED/BLK
    Left rear speaker - GRN & GRN/WHT
    Left front speaker - BLU/ORG & BLU/RED
    Right rear speaker - GRN/YEL & GRN/RED
    Right front speaker - BLU/BLK & BLU/WHT
    Ground - BLK

I have not researched this yet, But, I believe it to be true. The only thing that I don't feel is accurate is the Ground. On my 89 L there was no black wire, I had to make my own ground. Make sure that you check the fuses after you install the head-unit if it does not power up, then check your ground. If all else fails, remember, a good digital Multimeter is your best friend.

I agree with the ground, i dont know why it makes a difference on deck manufacturer though. My Jensen i had running to my black wire that was stock, and i put in a JVC and blew fuses until i ran a new ground wire

I checked these to a 1991 Festiva electrical manual and by looking at the speaker connectors:

Hot at all times - WHT/RED
Hot in run or ACC - BLU/YEL
        Interior lights - WHT/RED
        Left rear speaker - GRN (+) & GRN/WHT
        Left front speaker - BLU/ORG (+) & BLU/RED
        Right rear speaker - GRN/YEL (+) & GRN/RED
        Right front speaker - BLU/BLK (+) & BLU/WHT
        Ground - BLK

Note about ground: my car has a short black wire that connects to the chassis at the rear of the space where the deck goes. This is in the electrical manual that I have so it's stock for the 91 Festiva.
        BP powered 91 Festiva L
-FMS springs, GR2 struts, Toyo T1R 195/45/14 on Swift GT alloys
        -Trunk mounted gel battery
-Suzuki Swift GT seats, Grant GT steering wheel, auto-locks

I don't think the Haynes manual tells which is pos or neg. Check out this website:

Please 'sticky' this thread someone. One day I will get a decent sound system installed in one of my cars. Truth be known I cringe every time I look at the crow's nest of wires that previous owners have taped together or left behind when the OEM radio died.
