Newbie here. I have a 98 pride hatchback, and I recently replaced the stock intake with an open element filter (not sure what the specific type is, it's basically a cotton filter sandwiched on two metal plates, and goes directly over the throttle body), and a matching piece that goes on top of the engine block (beside where the motor oil goes in). Anyway, after installing this, I now have an extra hose (coming from the back of the throttle body that used to attach to the underside of the stock) that could either be attached to the new filter (via a tube under it), or plugged shut.
I initially went with the first one, but would like an opinion from you guys with regards to mileage or air/fuel mixture or anything else that gets affected. I noticed that when I pinch on the hose (to simulate a "plugged setup"), the idle went down a little bit. I haven't had the time to take a picture yet, but I hope you guys know what i'm talking about.
