aspire: clock spring and multifunction switch and int wipers

I just grabbed a clock spring dealy with the multifunction switches for my aspire. it does have a position for intermittant wipers. has anyone ever converted non-int to int before? Is it just a matter of needing the switch or do I need to replace a relay too? I couldn't find anything in my repair guide.
