  • Rear Pillow Ball Mounts

Well after a few comments and giving it some thought I've decided I'm not totally happy
with my front camber plate install so I ordered another set (from a subaru this time) but
what to do with the first set. Certainly not wanting 100 bucks to go to waste i figured I
could use the sliders to make rear pillow ball mounts while waiting for the new fronts to
come in. As a bonus since the front plates raise the ride height about and inch this will do
the same in the rear so I'm not bringing about more understeer by raising the front and not
    the rear.

First up comes modding the rear shock tower. Had to enlarge the center hole to about 7/8s,
bend the supports for the old rubber bushing down a bit and drill four holes to mount the
sliders (minus plates). Holes have to be a bit oblong due to curvature of the tower.

Next comes mounting the slider on the shock.

    Original setup:

    Minus rubber Bushings:

New Steel bushing with spacer to fit snug around strut rod:

    Slider plate installed on strut:

Setup Complete with nut cinched down:

    Plate installed in strut tower:

    Inside of strut tower:

There you have it. Rear Pillow Ball Mounts Installed.

Nothing says "triumph of enthusiasm over physics" like a Front Wheel Drive race car.
