  • Wheel spacer question for hub centric rims

I'm working on a 93 festy, with stock hubs and I may have come across a set of 14x5.5 Mazda RX-7 alloy rims. From what I've read on here I should be able to get away with using 185/60R14's if I keep the stock suspension, but I may need to add a spacer to gain a bit more clearance.

The rims I'm looking at are direct bolt on, have 40mm of backspace, and have the same hub centric bore as the festy stock rims. If I need spacers what type do I need to get to gain a few mm's clearance. Would the standard flat shim type (flat plate) work with the hub centric rims and hubs? If so how thick could I safely use without getting extra vibration? Thanks in advance
