cleaned her out yesterday and started really looking into the car.

    so far i've found:

a custom hacked up harness for the fan and headlights
little spots of natural rust (a first for me) but they don't seem like they're penetrating structural metal yet.
possibly the worst interior i've ever seen (will be sourcing a carpet soon)

removed the door trim yesterday, but haven't attacked the glue. i think i'm just gonna leave it until i start sanding for paint.

and i'm brainstorming some stickers...we'll see how it turns out

hood is done and scoop installed.

cut a hole, dropped in scoop, riveted in place. lol

I replaced my shifter with a fairly decent copy of a B&M short shifter for a civic made from steel and it's a lot better but the shifter know now sits too low. Modding the stock shifter would take care of that. Take some measurements to see how much throw reduction you get.
i was lookin at the ebay shifter/knob/boot kits and honestly i'll prolly end up ordering one. but first i have to decide if i want a center console or not. if not, then no boot.

and the only reason i'll actually buy one is for the color lol

but i'll post measurements with pics

very easy and takes no time at all. we usually just throw a 1/2" long bolt in and cover it with weld :laughing5:

one of the new trends in the vw/bmw world is rusty hoods. most people hate it, i like it.

plus i plan on buying a few hoods to do a few diff finishes. change the hood depending on the look i want

and i'm 100% decided on flat blacking the car (will start weds) and gloss red wheels (whatever i can find or the 15" steelies if i buy tires)
