Timing is set at idle rpm. Also note that as you change timing, the idle rpm must be adjusted as well. Factory timing is +4 at 650 rpm. The +10 must also be at 650.

FestYboy I found the Thread you were talking about, I also found another one of your threads talking about Matt Dickmeyer and found some other Photo's as well.

Top end power changed significantly with the port job.
If you run 93 oct, you can set base timing to +10 right out of the gate and tune from there.

I'll have to look it up when it comes to that point. How much of a difference did you notice after? I also want to check the timing to see if I can get a little more out of it, I don't drive it that much so putting 93 octane in it isn't really that big of a deal for me if I can advance the timing a few degrees and get a little more power out of it.

I have a Wet Nitrous System that I'm going to hook up once I get the exhaust done so I will be running 93 octane anyway to make sure I don't lean out.

I plan to eventually pull the head and try to do some amateur port and polishing so if it doesn't stop ticking by then I guess I will find out what is going on.... I want to watch a few more videos and pick up the correct tools before I tackle that job though. This is all a learning phase for me.

I uses to but I use stp with zddp and the tick quit for good.
I no longer have the b3 but I still use the stp with ever oil change in my b6d.
I've also used atf to clean my engine when I first got it and it dose pretty good. I like seafoam as well.

It seams like there isn't a whole lot of power on the bottom end. The odometer says 147k so I'm assuming that is what is on the engine. When I first got it the valve train ticked really bad but after an oil change and then adding a quart of ATF and letting it idle for about 10 minutes at a time for about 2-3 months while I worked on getting it road ready and then another oil change it has basically gone away... until it the car hits operating temp and then it taps more than I would like it to. Not sure if that will eventually run itself out being that I have only ran about $25 worth of gas through it so far. Anyone else have this problem?

Just a Bone Stock B3. Stock Tires. I might have shaved about 40-50 Pounds of extra weight but I'm about 220lbs so I could stand to shave about 40 pounds off of me too lol. I just ordered a Innovative Motorsports Wideband 02 Sensor which should be here tomorrow. It might be a little while before it goes in because of the lack of funds. I'm probably going to do a 1.75" full exhaust(Down pipe and back) done and then get the bung welded into that at the same time. I have a Borla Muffler waiting to get welded on as well.

I also have a cheap Tach that is about to go in. That night I went to go leave I realized that my Cluster had come unplugged and it was too late to fix it so I was racing with no Tach or Speedo and had no clue how much fuel I had or if the car was overheating lol

Sounds like a fun time. That's a pretty solid run for a 23 year old car with 64hp.

I also met an old man out there driving an 80's model Ford Escort called Underdog that was very interested in my car. I talked to him for a bit and found out he does bracket racing with it for the past 20 years and wins quite a bit.

    Ran an 11.86 1/8th mile.

I did launch really well on one pass and beat a new Challenger off the line until I realized it was mostly just my reaction time lol...
