The 22mm ones are prone to developing crank "wobble" from incorrect installation of the crank pulley on the crankshaft.
An answer to your question, yes, they are all interchangeable, transmission bell housing and mounting wise. The only difference between the 22mm and the 27mm, are the crank pulley's and the crankshaft.
Thus is the reason I had to get a replacement crank for the engine I rebuilt last spring!!!!!

What is being measured on the two engine sizes 22 mm OD and 27.7 mm OD that occurred in 1992? Is each engine interchangeable with respect to the transmission and motor mounts?
