We have a long-handled car wash brush that sometimes sits in a bucket of water for days. Yesterday my son was washing his Nissan 300ZX bearing down hard on the hood to remove some bird crap. The steel handle broke off the plastic brush and gouged the bejeezes out of the paint. It just had a tiny pop rivot holding the two together and apparently it rusted loose. Good thing it wasn't a Ferrari!
