Rusted out front mount fix.

Screenshot_2025-12-25_153901.jpg Okay just finished doing this for the second time,second car. The radiator support front mount section seems to rust out real bad on these cars,then the front crossmember falls down on the front stabilizer bar. Well a darn good fix in my opinion is cut a piece of 1.5x1.5 angle iron 31" long unbolt your rusted out section core support off of the crossmember. Take off the 2 forward bolts and the 2 nuts on the stabilizer mount corner brackets. Do not remove the outer 2 bolts on the stabilizer mount brackets,they always break or the captured nut spins in the body. Now you can pry the stabilizer mounts down enough to slip the angle iron on top of those brackets and on top of the crossmember. Center up your angle side to side. 1 leg of the angle will be in front of the brackets and pointing at the ground. The other flat of the angle will be sitting flat across the bottom of the radiator support. Mark bolt locations using your crossmember and your stabilizer brackets as your template. Take your angle back out. Drill the holes you marked. Drill your holes a little sloppy so you are sure bolt holes will line up with captured nuts on the core support. Put your angle back in place,bolt your crossmember to your angle iron bolt your corner back up holding the angle iron in place. Works like a champ. The first car I pulled the corner mounts completely made my angle full width and bolted the angle up with 4 of the corner bracket bolts. On that car 1 outter bolt broke 1 spun and it made it a PITA to take the brackets off and put them on. This car the outter 2 bolts didn't want to move so I didn't force them I just revised my mount. I've got a pic somewhere of my other car when I did it. I'll try to findbut and post it. If not I'll go take a pic of this one when I feel like going back outside.
