Muffler wiggling out of hangers?

My muffler on my 91 festy keeps making its way all the way to one side of the hangers, to the point where one side of the muffler comes out of the hanger completely. once it has slid this far over the pipe begins to rattle against the bottom of the frame...
It shouldn't be to hard to wire it in place or something so that it can't slide back and forth any more, but I want to know what the cause of the problems is, not just a dirty way to fix it :roll:
so any one else had this problem?

ummm. Mine rusted in half, then fell on to the road...
I guess the best thing to do is go to a muffler shop and have them build you a new one. That way they can install new hangers (I guess you could have them weld on new hangers on the stock exhaust, but that's no fun!)...
