  • B8 Head bolts

Did a search and found that B3 headbolts can be re-used, but didn't find anything about the B8. Are the headbolts re-usable? I think they are but just want to be sure...thanks guys!!

Most engines use "Torque To Yield" head bolts. They stretch when torqued and will break if re-used.

New head bolts are cheap enough. Buy new, or go with studs.

Some flywheel bolts are like this too. Found out the hard way. This is another area where I'd use new.

I just had the same question for pulling apart and examining my B6 before installation, so thanks again, Arty!
