  • A/C Condensor Fan

I don't have one of these on my car, and my wiring harness has no provision for it, but from what I've heard the fan does a great deal as far as reducing strain on the engine and providing more cool air.

Any ideas? I don't particularly want to mess about with the harness too much, because mine came from the only carb'd car in the junkyard and as a result the placement of connectors differs from EFI, factory, and aftermarket setups (mine was originally dealer installed aftermarket).

I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult to tap the wire that leads to the compressor, but I don't want unexpected results...

Now the air co. works, I don't want to screw it up!

    Regards,

    Tim

PS - the idle-up solenoid was defective - that's why the idle was rough.

you didn't see mine on Techno? I used an xr2 condenser fan and wired it directly to the radiator fan.. keeps the B6 cool in the Texas summer heat too.

          Ok...

What I'll probably do is tap the pressure switch and run a relay for the fan so it comes on when the A/C is turned on.

          Regards,

          Tim

I already got most of the dissembly part typed.

Tomorrow I'll add the assembly instructions, and post the how-to.

Unfortunately the photographer is out camping this week, so the pics won't be up until this weekend.

I assure you, they will be worth waiting for. I am covering both carb'd and EFI so everyone can benefit from this worthwhile upgrade, and have many pictures as a reference.
