I have a 3-1/2 ton Craftsman with the rapid lift...two umps and it has the Explorer engage...$49...very stable...once engaged...alot of pumps from there to off the ground.
Frestiva....I thought I was the only one who did that....Every time I'm at the bone yard...I look for like pairs of scissor jacks....I can run two of them up quicker than with a pump jack and stands. On small cars once you find a place to put the pump jack...there is no place to put the jack stand. I have 4 of the old Fords truck screw type bottle jacks that i use with an air ratchet...quick, safe, and efficient for space. Brilliant video.

I use stands and a few wheel/tires laying under the car. That way, if the stands walk to the side, the wheel/tire keeps the car from squishing you flat.

a few years ago i was working on my brothers firebird with just a jack holding it up, the car was on grass, needless to say the car came down but not fully to the ground, it was a tight squeeze sliding out from under it but luckly i was completely un-harmed
so my advice is the same as everyone else's, always use jack stands while under a car!

Well, its not "low" profile but with 3 full "strokes" this 3 1/2 ton jack will lift a festy without and isssue.
Bought 2 from SAM's a few years ago!
Price was right at $60 each!

Stefan be careful!!!! This is very Important to understand. As you increase the length of the arm away from the hydraulic cylinder...you have increased the torque on the cylinder. What this means is that lesser of a load will drive the pressure up in the cylinder....possibly more than it's rated. Most hydraulic jacks have relief valves that open if the load is beyond the rating of the jack. You have just made it easier to set the relief valve off.

The jack would probably pick up a complete Festy, I'm sure after the mod it will pick up part of one long enough to get stands under it!

So dont take it as an insult.Just fellow Festiva nuts showing their love by making sure youre being safe.:love4:
