Had to pick my champion radish today, something ( not the dog ) was gnawing on it. Stuck it in the freezer. Weird seeds we are getting these days ?? Note the normal size radish and coins in the pics.

Yeah it rained here yesterday for 10 minutes, best rain we've had all summer.Originally posted by BigElCat View PostAre those the tators, or the apples? Looks good either way!
It just rained super hard here in Paola....for about 6 minutes. And it's gone completely.
The last time it rained was about 2 weeks ago...extremely hard for about 3 minutes.
It's pretty weird.
(The rain went away...Paola's still here
)
I canned another six quarts of potatoes today. My "Rotato" arrived as I was finishing up. Knew you want to see it in action.

Im loving the dehydrater !! Bought some apples for it today. I also got my new pressure cooker today in the mail and canned approx 1/6 th of my potato crop. Im hoping for 35-40 quarts total. The potato variety today was Pontiac.

Fresh pie
Fresh, that little peeler would be great for making Apple pie, it's peeled quickly, put the apple on end and run a knife through it, now you have your pie wedges, hmm the Iowa state fair starts this week, maybe i'll find one there.

I've got fifty pounds of potatoes to peel so I bought the handy little peeler in the video below. It works on most fruits and veggies. Probably have to cut a cucumber in half first. Should be a real time saver if you are a canner. I also ordered a hands free electric one called the "Rotato" :^) The video shows how it peels, cores, and slices. Niffy eh ??

Drought? What drought?
I went to a creek I visit, usually can swim and play in the water. It was so low, there was only a trickle of water coming over the low water bridge.
I walked downstream about 70 yds and the creek disappeared!!! :eeeeeek:
In 20 yrs I hadnt seen that happen to that creek.
Man, those berries make me think shortcake and whipped cream. droolLast edited by drddan; 08-03-2012, 01:36 AM.

Yeah I built the rain water catch system below, hasnt rained since. 93% of Missouri is in a extreme drought now. See link below. Its real bad, lots of dried up farm ponds and fish kills.
