DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The front seats recline individually. Each seat is mounted on a track secured to
the floor by four bolts. The seat position is adjusted by two levers.
Both seat adjustment levers are located at the lower outside edge of the seat
cushions. When either lever is lifted, the seat can be manually moved back or
forth on its track.
The seat recliner adjustment lever is located at the lower rear outside of each
seat cushion. When this lever is lifted, the seat back can be manually tilted
back or folded forward.ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÂÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ

³ Dual-Acting Seat Back Fold Lever (Passenger Side Only) ³
The passenger seat on Canadian LX models is equipped with a storage tray
located under the seat cushion.
The dual-acting recliner lever (or pedal) is located on the back of the passenger seat. When this lever is pressed, the seat back can be folded forward and the seat automatically slides forward.
The seat recliner adjustment mechanism consists of:
l Tension spring
l Gear quadrant
l Lock pawl
l Lock pawl spring
l Driver side lever
l Two passenger side levers
When the front lever is lifted, or on the passenger side either lever is pressed, they disengage the lock pawl from the teeth on the gear quadrant to allow the seat back to move. If either lever is operated while the seat is unoccupied, the large tension spring will automatically tilt the seat fully forward. If the seat is occupied, the seat back can be pushed backward against spring pressure to whatever angle the seat occupant desires. When the lever is released, the lock pawl engages the gear quadrant and the lock pawl spring holds the lock pawl in the position selected.
The rear seat is a bench seat with a split back on Canadian LX models, and a
one piece back on all others. When the knobs at the top of the seat backs are
lifted, the latch is disengaged, allowing the seat back to be folded forward.
The rear seat cushion is attached to the floorpan at its leading edge by two
hinged brackets allowing the seat assembly to be folded forward. When the seat
back is folded down against the lower seat cushion, the entire rear seat
assembly can be folded forward against the front seats.
