Wiper Motor


Removal

The following illustration shows the wiper motor and related components.
1. Remove the wiper arm. Refer to the procedure in this section.

2. Remove the shaft seal from the wiper motor shaft.

3. Remove the outer bushing attaching nut.

4. Remove the outer bushing.
 

5. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to «Section 01-05».

6. Peel back the wiring harness routing tape.

 


7. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.

 

8. Remove the four wiper motor attaching bolts and the wiper motor.

 

9. If necessary, remove the inner bushing from the motor shaft.

 

10. If necessary, remove the O-ring from the motor shaft

Installation

NOTE:
Ensure the locating tab on the inner bushing engages the alignment tab on the brush lead cover tab.

1. If removed, install the O-ring and inner bushing on the motor shaft.

2. Position the wiper motor and install the four wiper motor attaching bolts. Tighten the four wiper motor attaching bolts to 8-11 N-m (6-8 lb-ft).

3. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector.

4. Position the wiring harness and secure with the routing tape.

5. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to «Section 01-05».

6. Install the outer bushing.

7. Install the outer bushing nut. Tighten the outer bushing nut to 3-5 N-m (2-4 lb-ft).

8. Install the shaft seal onto the outer bushing nut.

9. Install the wiper arm. Refer to the procedure in this section.
