Anybody in Seattle who has experience:
1. Replacing a 1993 clutch? See: http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...t=33347&page=2
2. Fixing bad lurching problem in a 1988LX (already has a rebuilt carb), OR upgrading one to fuel-injection. I have a complete bad-body red drivable fuel-injected donor right here. I believe the fuel tank and wiring harness need to be transplanted in addition to the engine+gearbox (the 88LX has an annoying 2nd-gear synchro problem). The 88LX's engine was professionally rebuilt only 40K miles/8 years ago at a cost of $2,000, so it's a keeper if it were upgraded to fuel-injection.
Here's the deal. Come here (presumably you're local, but OK if you're not), help me fix these problems, and take one or both home of the pictured Festivas home with you (either now or later at your convenience -- I own the land here). I drove both home some years ago after buying them on CL. Both have good glass and decent interiors. Both have clean WA titles in my name. The above-referenced red donor and my stock of parts are available for your use as required on the freebies. Both have 12" wheels; new 12" tires are available locally as required.
I have a big orange Harbor-freight engine hoist, a floor jack, and full set of Craftsman tools, including torque wrenches, but not much in the way of pullers. I have a 12x18 carport, but no garage. This is Seattle, so it's grey and wet with temps in the 40s/50s.
I'm looking at taking a job in MA for a while, so would like one of the above two vehicles to be in shape to drive there -- SOON. I might even want somebody to drive one of them there for me.
