  • ATTENTION!! FF'05 HELP (Don't post unless you are offering)

SERIOUSLY!! Who can get what we need and where?

I don't think we can have track time at Waterford (Michigan), Tim hasn't responded to Burgess' or my emails so.....

    We need these 3 things.

    1. Track. I don't care if it's an oval, twisty or a huge ass parking lot where we can set up cones.. (owners signed permission req'd)

    2. Campgrounds with bathrooms. Preferably close or part of the track or lot. We may have to fore-go amenities for closeness to the track or vise-versa.

Whoever helps host this will also have to secure a campground area for at least 6 tents, BBQ pit. a good campfire.. (PM me the cost) They will have to be there Friday night to greet, hand out small "I showed up" FF'05" stickers (which will also double as entry into any contests or giveaways) and direct us to the site as we arrive.

    3. Event schedule-entertainment. BBQ is a MUST!!! I would also like to have a few contests/give aways.. like to the Festy that traveled the longest distance, Cleanest stock, Most modded, maybe reserve the August FOTM for the winner of the FF'05's baddest Festiva/Aspire to show. I will try to get FMS to donate a prize as will I.

The minimum: This could be as simple as a wooded area or field next to a parking lot, an old airport anything with a tarmac to set up cones. Rent 2 portable toilets..

The FML members as well as the FMS employees are with us on this and will help where they can.

We only have about 60-75 days!!

For those that wish to donate, I will create a donors list as a sticky topic that can only be written to by admins and mods but read by everyone.

Cash donations will be taken via my paypal account. David Hayek or Technostiva@fordfestiva.com

PM me with any help you can provide.. from stickers to t shirts.. donations don't have to be cash.

A similar post is being made on the FML,Turbo FML, Festiva Fanatics and the 323 board.

Let's get on this.. Time is running out...

i'd say come to the cumberland airport where I went this weekend, but there are other venues i'm sure.

They are hosting quite a few autox events this summer, one every month or so.

There are campgrounds / hotels galore in the surrounding area & festivas are VERY common cars around this area, I see them all the time.

BTW Their autox events are 2-day things....saturday & sunday. You can run either day or both and spectate either or for free.

Just a suggestion (a not very good one, but meh).

Finding a real circuit track that will let us run for very little money isn't likely. The fact tim is a long-time member at waterford is the reason we got track time in the past. Finding a smallish autox in an area w/decent accomodations would be the best bet IMO, all depends on where you want to hold the event. ALso, are you sure people want to race their cars? Just holding a normal meet would be cool as well.

South Bend SCCA is having an event at the Tire Rack test track August 7th. I've not driven it, but I've volunteered a time or two - pretty cool course. 1/8 mile track not too far away, also. Usually $30-35 for non-members.

I'll do some calling around the Indianapolis area, too.

Why not go to a Test and Tune day at a 1/4 mile track? There is one in Lapeer, MI that is a good one. Whats nice about it is for $35, you get tons of runs in. There is a large parking area and is a nice small town environment. They have an automated track timing equipment and an announcer.

        Check it out at http://www.lapeerdragway.com

If you guys are interested, I can look into camping in the area. We were just there with our Taurus club, you can check out the pics at:

If you guys are interested, let me know. I am sure I can help secure everything on your list.
