9am till 3pm! Awards at HIgh Noon!
We have relocated! The address is actually the pallet company next door as Google Maps STILL hasn’t updated to show where we are. There will be PLENTY of signs. You won’t miss it. Satellite view is old, but it is immediately west, we almost share an entrance with them. It looks like dirt on the map, it is not like that now. It dates back to when the land was clear cut, stands out like a sore thumb. Street view is even older, by years.
Over the years, we have hosted Festiva Madness at various locations around Raleigh. As the city expands, we have moved the meet from one location to another then finally landing at Snoopy’s Hotdogs. Unfortunately, we have outgrown Snoopy’s and that shopping center, but do not get discouraged as we are moving Festiva Madness to the farm!
It was always a dream of Dean's to be able to have a “Festiva-Fun-Zone” of sorts. There are only a few of us that actually knew what his goals were for Madness and we hope to honor his wishes in making this one of the greatest meets ever.
We are going to do everything exactly the way you have come to expect with wrenching, awards and the night-before cookout. We will just be doing this at a different location. This transition will also allow Barb to get less wear and tear on her house for the event. But make no mistake, the “Festiva Queen Mum” herself will still be on hand every second of this meet.
For twelve years, she opened up her house to the Madness committee. We would swarm in, move things, rearrange, clean and prepare for the week of Festiva Family. Now, she will be the guest of honor at the farm and will be able to relax more during her much-earned retirement! Our house is her house and moving Madness to the farm was also part of her dream. So she is finally getting to see the dream come to reality.
If you have been to Madness before you already know what to expect. Tons of shenanigans, Festiva family fun and reunions galore! If you have not been to Madness just simply expect Madness in the purest sense of the word. It will still feel like Madness at Barb’s but we have much more to share! The farm allows us to have more fun and events than ever before!
The front 16 acres of Kobayashi Maru Farms (Festy Farm) will be open to all. We will be in full Madness mode and will start accepting early-bird arrivals no earlier than Wednesday, October 2nd.
There are several hotels and motels near the farm as well as several Air B and B's. The differences this year are a few. My house will be open to any that need to use the bathroom or get something to eat in the middle of the night or crash anywhere they can find a free spot. However, since we are looking at a larger area we will also be providing extra bathrooms this year. We will be having a company bring in a few extra bathrooms that will be spread out over the property to allow for easier access and less waiting for morning dooties…. I mean, duties.
We will have plenty of water bottles will be on hand to prevent dehydration. For the Friday night cook out before we will have a bonfire with live music. A new photographer will be on site taking pictures during the event, but you are welcome to take pics yourself and share those on social media too!
Everything about the meet will be the same...with some additions.
Immediately after the awards, we will all line up and head South and west to Zaxbys in Louisburg, and park in the Walmart parking lot behind the restaurant. Management will know we are coming and can make staff changes as needed. This is something we tried in the past but Raleigh traffic and lights always breaks it up, but not anymore! We will have a pleasant cruise for about 15 minutes through rolling hills at 55MPH most of the way, until we hit town. There we can WOW the people of Louisburg with our wonderful little cars. We can continue to hang out, visit nearby parts stores, etc until roughly 3PM. Anyone is welcome to head back and forth to the farm as well, of course. If you need parts at Oreilly auto, there is a commercial account we can use to get a discount on parts.
After that, a few of the Madness members have devised a few games that they have always wanted to play with festys at a meet but have never had the right amount of space to do this. Get your driving skills ready for some blinding fun!!
There will still be doing breakfast buffet Sunday morning before people head out. If you want it you are welcome to it. Nom, nom, nom!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY: THIS IS MADNESS 13 ALL-HALLOWSTIVA!!!
We will be having a costume car contest!!! If you wish to participate, start planning now!! Don't let Jeremy Mullins’ creepy butt win hands down!
There is plenty of room out at the farm! Any and all of you are welcome to set up camp. We will have a camping area set up for anybody that needs it.
Sleeping arrangements are your responsibility – Come prepared!
Things to bring with you:
Folding chairs (Or you’ll be standing all weekend!)
Skeeter spray
Sunscreen (prepare for all weather types)
Camping gear if you are not staying in a hotel (tent, sleeping bag, etc)
Snacks, water, coolers -Remember, we will be at the farm!
No alcohol please!
ALSO
We will be regularly updating the Festiva Madness website and Facebook page with itinerary and location changes(if any) etc. In particular, we have one spot already in case of rain, but we are continuing to look for another. Before you head out, double and triple check those places for any updates to information. There will be driving directions, updated information, phone numbers etc. Also an updated list of awards.
We are also opening the meet up to the Mercury Capri guys and girls! Tell your friends in those communities about it!
This has the potential to be one of the Maddest of all Festiva Madnesses!!!
We look forward to seeing everybody! Now people, please go get your cars ready… you have a meet to experience, and awards to win!
If you have any questions feel free to message the madness page or any of the madness planning committee members.
Now, you know the drill. Sign up below with who will be attending, and shirt size. Just copy and paste the old list, then add your name etc to the bottom. All those driving a Festiva, an Aspire, or a Capri will receive one free T Shirt. Additional shirts can be ordered in advance just let us know, for $10 bucks each. Will also always print a few extra but if you don’t let us know in advance, we can’t guarantee your size will be available. XXL and up shirts are $2 extra.
