are the DJ memorial meets taking the place of spring meets?

what's the deal here? I don't really care one way or another but what's the meet schedule look like right now?

are we substituting one of the ohiostiva's for a more centrally located meet??

I think a post of strictly festiva meets is a great idea. That way instead of scrolling through four pages of discussion on where to have a meet, people can just look at one topic and quickly find where the nearest meet is, what time, and then a link to the discussion about the meet. A form something like this:

Date: February 30, 2008
Time: 3:00 AM
City: Grand Forks, ND
Location: Walmart parking lot
What to bring: Huge coat and portable heater
What we are going to do: Try to stay warm
Link to discussion: discussion topic

for the northeast/midatalantic, I'm pretty sure we are doing both a memorial meet and OhioStiva.

Yeah, mine original idea was a meet for DJ alone!
It wasn't my intent to interfere with the Ohiostiva scheduling.
Some will make one or the other, and some of us will try to make both!
More meets are better, gives us more opportunity to get together.
Probably will have fewer people at each meet, but likely they will be different people because timing isn't always convenient for every body.

Well some of us were discussing the possibility of having a ohiostiva type event out here in the place of either of the spring or fall ohiostiva's.


So it would go something like this:
Midwestiva = may
Festiva festival = july
ohiostiva = sept

You know spread it out some, meet some more people.

I believe there will still be a spring Ohiostive at the end of May sometime. I hope we still have enough inerest.

I do not think that we should change the normal Ohiostiva meets. I thought the DJ meets were just MICRO meets to get everybody together for a quick little lunch or dinner. Not an all day event or anything like that.

i agree as well because personally i don't want to drive 6 hours to one of the southern meets for a "micro" meet where as the Ohiostiva in the spring is the one i always plan on going to

wasnt there a st. louis meet last year? was that a one time thing or is it repetitive. and when and where is festiva festival?

we had the st.louis meet in november as atest to see who and how many people would go to a meet out there. results looked positive so I think we are going to repeat it sometime earlier in the year.
