  • cant we all just get along?

just out of curiosity i know we have some great dedicated die hard festi guys but i was wondering when we do our meets why dont we combind it with some of the other mazda guys? not the rotary guys but like the protege/escort guys. i think of it this way if you can appreciate the festiva you probably can appreciate a escort. this would help open the doors to maybe more info parts and upgrades share some knowledge ect. we festi nutz are few and far between so if we get a few escort guys it make the meeting bigger. just a thought lets poll this idea

um, hello, us four no more. No outsiders allowed. They might want to get festiva once they realized how great they are and that would really raise the prices.

Seriously, though, that works good for local meets, but once you get to a nationwide level, most people want to meet up with people of very similar taste and passions, hence festiva only. (though we do allow brake swaps) I like the idea of having huge meets, as I have a festiva and an mx-3. But then again, I also have a 240sx, and would love to meet up with those guys too. So, maybe we can have a festiva/MX-3/240sx meet. That would be cool. I will drive my taurus to it, since that is most comfortable for long road trips.

i for one like seeing almost 20 festivas lined up and havin an escort in the line up wouldn't look right

      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Id say open up to other mazda groups that don't have a big following like 323s and capris.

Festi's FTW.... maybe a smartcar now or then!

at least for things like OHStiva. (OHscort just doesn't sound right). Maybe for a local meet like noname said but not for a main festiva meet.

i agree with shorestiva i think if we are willing to a engine or a major piece of a car and add it to are's we should be able to invite them to are meets.. but i also agree with

Well, I drove a Chrysler rental car to the first Ohiostiva!

Fortunately, it didn't establish a precedent.

Anyone and any car is welcome to the meets. So are motorcycles, bicycles and skateboards, but they probably won't be admitted to the "photo lineups."

When we do the big shoots, it's usually Aspires and Festivas only.

In the smaller meets, make your own rules. Having an "Escort, 323 and Festiva" meet is fine if that's the way you advertise it.

I'd love to see a "mini-micro car meet." Say, under 2000 pounds: Original Minis, Swifts, Metros, Festivas, Yugos, Smarts, early Rabbits, etc. Just imagine having a Nash Metro or some bubble cars there! That would be cool. (I'd check with Brian first before you post it here, though, just to be kosher.)

My take on our meets is that we meet up to celebrate our Aspires and Festivas. Our purpose is not to intentionally exclude others due to what they drive. "Related" cars like 323s, EGTs, etc. are always welcome and provide opportunities for members to check out what comes on those cars, possibly take measurements, ask questions, etc. No problem.

I wouldn't mine seeing a sick mazda 323 91-94 hatch or MX-3 with a BP-t. Just for everyones comments on nothing but festiva allowed I'm gonna drive in my 99 mitsu eclipse, wailtail, fart can muffler, sprint springs, no front bumper, primered rear bumper and all. HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW!
