Well i got home for good last night (drove home from erie now..) rolled over 150k on the clock! doesn't mean much since there isn't really anything on my car thats stock, but still the overall trip was just over 1k i think. Time for an oil change!
The B6 got about 43mpg on the way home, i kept it at about 65 and stayed behind semi's as much as i could which must have helped a bit b/c when sam and dean and i were driving we were going around 60 most of the way, and i got 2mpg less than on the way home when i was going a little faster.
On the way up to erie from OH though i only got 46... the B6 cruises nicely at 80-90, i got in a line with a stang and an eclipse going about that speed, i figured if anyone was going to get pulled over it would be one of them!

well its good to be home, can't wait for the next meet! Now to go find that aspire spring and speedo cable JIC our pop-can fix doesn't hold for to long on that aspire!

I arrived back about 12:30 1:00 ish sat/sun with no speedometer. When I stopped and got gas at the park, I reset the odometer......no speedo! Drove all the way to Rt 5 down 79 with just the Tach, then out the twistys to the house. After we closed today, I tore into it to find the cable had snapped in two. Could have been much worse. Swapped it out, and tweaked on the illumination sockets, which was one thing I had meant to do anyway next time I had the cluster out, and all seems well now. Rasta gets the kid duty again starting tommorow it looks like. Had a great time, and many thanks to all who came, and organized again. I hope to see all come Fall Fest time!

Tell you what I did with the cluster lites... I bought a 10" self-adhesive strip of red surface mounted LED's (AutoZone or AdvanceAuto or PepBoys...) set up for 12v & wired them into the back of the cluster PC board where the grain-0-wheat bulbs connect. Pop the plastic bezel off & stick 'em up under the top just where the light slot already is. I have to keep the illumination control all the way down, they're so friggin' bright! Never again will you not be able to see your instruments at nite due to weak lighting!

The LEDs seem to be a great way to go! The interior lights looked like they have worked out really well in the "madness"machine too!

The interior lite in the Madness machine is a "tent light" that is available at most outdoors outfitters, camping supplies and such; usually for under $12 bux. It has 24 melt-your-retinas white LEDs that absolutely light up every cubic centimeter of the interior of the car! Its only a serendipity that it looks like a classic 1950s flying saucer!

Maybe one day I will get motivated to wire it into the 12v system.
