  • Who's coming to the Western Canada meet?

    Hello everyone,

Who is planning on coming to the Western Canada meet July 18, 19 & 20th? I have the group campsite booked for the Friday and Saturday nights. All the details are in this thread

If you can make it for both nights that would be great, one night would be great and even if you can only make it out for the day on Saturday that would be great too.

If you're going to camp the cost will be $25.00CD per night per site. This is based on the group campsite rental of $250 per night for the first ten spots. When it gets closer to the day I'll be asking for payment via Paypal so that way you'll have a receipt and if things fall apart it will be easier to refund everyone.

I will need to have at least ten people commit to camping to make this worthwhile and I need to know before June 15th (the deadline for getting my deposit back). As I mentioned earlier they only book the group site for two nights. I'm still trying to see if I can change this especially if there aren't enough people to make it for both nights.

I checked into booking a block of individual sites for just one night but when I called last week there was only one site left!

Check out time is 11am on Sunday and what I thought we could do is take a scenic drive as a group down Highway 40 through Kanaskis Country and over the Highwood Pass. We'd end up on Highway 22 in Longivew so those heading back to BC could drop down to highway 3 and head home that way. Those headed east or south could do the same.

I hear there's a good burger joint in Longview!

If there isn't enough interest I'll have to cancel the reservation and we'll have to come up with alternate plans.

    Thanks

Just remembered, even if we could get our B6T in by that date, a friend of mine is having his wedding that weekend. Wish I could though!

I know that all the campgrounds in banff and the kootney parks are non reservable or just one at a time. We may have to bite the bullet and stay at one and risk not being together if this reservation doesnt work. I know that Johnston Campground has 132 sites and is just a short drive from banff. It does allow two tents/cars per site. It may not be ideal but we will still get to to the drive and what ever activities together anyways. It is in the park and is more money but many are only there for one night anyway.http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/ab/banff/v...sit9a-6a_e.asp
