Festive Madness Meet Details

2nd Annual Festiva Madness Meet will be October 18th.

All Ford Festiva and Aspire owners join us for an afternoon of car talk with other Festiva lovers.

The plan is to meet between 12:00 and 1:00 at the Capital Blvd. (US 1) K-Mart parking lot and cruise to another nearby location to eat and talk and check out each others' rides for the afternoon.

The K-Mart is located just south of I-540, exit 16. For mapping purposes, the address is 6200 Capital Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27616.

Final location is probably going to be the Char Grill, just a few miles away, at 4621 Atlantic Ave., Raleigh, NC 27604 (For anyone who was here last year, this is a different Char Grill than the one we used for a meeting place last year.) They have a side parking lot along the road where monthly cruise-ins are held and space where we can hang out for a few hours without getting in their way.

When it gets close to meet time, if the weather does not look good for an outside location, there are a couple of other possible destinations. Will post final information closer to the date if the final destination is going to change.

There are a couple of picnic tables near the Char Grill and a big grassy area, but if you have folding chairs, you might want to bring them.

For all who drive their Festiva or Aspire to the meet, there will be free event tee shirts. If you are planning to come, please email me with your tee shirt size so I can be sure to have enough shirts made up.

If you have parts to swap, bring them along! And bring pictures. Door prizes are still in the planning stages.

Festiva Madness meet one month from today. Please pm or e-mail your shirt size so I can have them for you at the meet. This is a rain or shine event.

Aspire owners in the area and on web have also been invited.

One of the members on here is drawing up a design for the t-shirts.

Ran into another Festiva owner Tuesday and on the same day two folks in Aspires. Handed them a flier about the upcoming meet.

The meet is posted on all Craigslist wanted sections in N.C.

Plans are to post it in a couple local auto type traders.

Maybe, one of the local TV or cable stations would be interested in doing a story.

"Cars that sip gas"? checking on that.

If anyone here is interested in searching some local junk yards Friday before the meet or Sunday & Monday after, let me know. I am off from work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

Been checking with some local junk yards all morning. One yard has two Festivas and also a Aspire.
They told me that they had just crushed one Aspire yesterday. They told me that they didn't think anyone would want parts from a Festiva. They also told me that they would hold back getting rid of the Festivas or Aspires for awhile.

Another place is checking their yard . They said there are several Festivas there along with a few Aspires.

Another yard has one with lots of parts missing.

Most of the yards are open Mon-Fri only.

Most of these yards are less than 30 minutes from the meet.
