^ which is why I like Ohio (only 2 hours for me). Ohio is pretty much in the center of things in the Midwest and is not too far from the stuff in the south. Heck, Myrtle Beach is only 11 hours or so.
Anyway, my alarm system will be done today. Then I am going to get started with the cool stuff. I will probably get on with the a-pillar speakers first.
I am trying my hardest to get this car done. Thanks to everyone pm'ing me to keep the car and truck on (I kinda got inspired). It's nice to have friends in similar places. Now I have to do my part and get one more finished Festiva to the meet. Or should I say meat. I love cookouts.

At the time I got the GMRS radios, I wanted to get 2-way for my motorcycle and the CB options were exorbitantly expensive.

We'll see what's going on then guys. There's still a few months to hack out all the plans for the drive out there.
You guys should invest in portable CB radio's with magnetic mount antennas...
I love the CB in my Jeep... Keep in touch for MILES, and you get to hear the fun stuff that truckers talk about.

Kind of like star trek communicators but with a lot shorter range.Originally posted by rcottle View PostWhat kind of radios are these? Might try and make a meet will depend on how road worthy i feel the car is at that time. It all sounds like fun -what all goes on at one of these meets?
Can be plugged into a headset for hands free a hands free com link!

Essentially some inexpensive walkie-talkie types. The FRS ones have a limited range due to low power output thus no license required. GMRS has a bit more power/range & does require a license (no test though). The frequency bands overlap (GMRS has all the FRS channels and a few more that FRS doesn't have).Originally posted by rcottle View PostWhat kind of radios are these? Simon,Originally posted by SimonTuffGuy View PostWhat are the details of the park in PA?
If I can shave an hour of driving, I'd likely just meet at the park... Unless I find out the details on the caravan from NC and meet up with them somewhere.
You could cut an hour out of the drive, but on the other hand, you would miss all the macho b---, uh, craziness at PU241's and all the fun of convoying around with the other Festys. Besides, you could play tag with Skeeter!

Yes, they made communication throughout the convoy so much easier.Originally posted by sam.1956 View PostEveryone remember to bring your FRS/GMRS radios. Makes caravan/convoy control so much easier!
And made lane changes and exits as if it had been choreographed.
Nothing like seeing 7 festivas changes lanes simultaneously!
