  • UPDATED Ozark Meet + Area57

Alrighty, here is an update on the Ozark Meet taking place April 24, 25, and 26th with the official meeting place on Saturday at around 12 noon at Lambert's in Springfield, Missouri.
Find local businesses, view maps and get driving directions in Google Maps.

Then, we'll head out of Lambert's around 2-3ish to do some curvy fun driving for about an hour. Then we'll head to Area57 as the Tulsa Vette Set (http://www.tulsavetteset.com/)will be hosting the Cruise-in Drive-in Movie night in Branson, MO (about 30 miles south of Springfield).

I don't yet know the movie to be played, but definitely car related. (Possibly American Graffiti the manager said). Movie starts at dusk- around 8Pm.

The list so far of people coming so far:

    1. Dan(Levitan) and Laura
    2. Doug(packrat427) and Penny(2chows)
    3. Dustin(anomoly40)
    4. Kemp(muscle_car1) and alicia(festiva_chick)
    5. Wil (elcamino1) ?
    6. Jon (SIBladerunner)
    7. Justin & Shawna (Justin)
    8. Jurryrigger007 (Scott)
    9. MONSOON and Deb
    10. Eric (ejp2fast), Betsy, and the little guy
    11.
    12.
    13.
    14.
    15.

This is by-no-means set in stone, just a rough idea of whats up for Saturday.

I reserved 15-20 spots at Area57 for all of our Festiva's to be in a group. I am sure I can reserve more if need be. (We'll show up those Vettes!)

WE NEED MORE PEOPLE TO COME NOW!!!!

Please copy and paste the above list to add your name.
here is the initial Ozark Meet thread:

It all sounds great to me , I am happy with what ever comes along .

I have been to almost every show in Branson , and pretty much all the attractions , including the Dick Clark Theater ., Been there every year since 96'

I love them all , except for Yakoff Smirnoff , I would not go back if it was free , or if they paid me .. Well depends on how much ??

It all sounds good to me. If all goes well heading up there, we'll be in Mountian Grove around 4 AMish catch a few winks and head over to Lamberts. Ill park elsewhere nearby. I dont want to pollute the air near the Festivas with my Neon.

And if you could stay with your car the entire time, it would help us even more! We'd like to represent a GOOD image and not break any of the viewing public's cameras!

                      EJP,

I'm requesting that you reserve two spots. One for "The Don." And one for DJ.

Maybe somebody that is into crafts more than me, can take up the responsibility of making a memorial placard or something with photos and a brief write-up about him and the history of the site, who owns it now, other meets nationwide, etc. Somebody surely has access to photos of DJ and his rides. Place it on an easel(sp?) or something. He is the "Godfather" of the site, yes? I mean, if it wasn't for him, none of us would be at "Ozark Meet 2009". If we have an odd number of cars, he gets the center spot. If we have an even amount, give him the first spot.

Maybe a 3 column display of photos and write-up.

I'm just throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks. Anybody is welcomed to throw ideas out there to make our Meet an awesome experience.

Just thought it would be something cool.

This is a great idea as DJ paved the way for this site. DJ was before my time, but from what others from the site have said, he was revered greatly. I don't have any pics or history of him, so maybe an admin or mod or someone else will have to get that.
Here is a list of the Festivas and spots for the Area57 on Saturday the 25th. There are 15 slots that are reserved as of now by the manager, and that can be up'ed if more people will come! hint hint.....

                        1. DJ memorial spot
                        2. The Don - Freshtiva
                        3. Hairlipstiva (ejp2fast)
