JLock, Kartracer46 and I should get to the sonic about 10:30. May have britstiva along if we can work out a meet point. Heard through the grapevine that scitzz is probably not coming, but haven't heard back from him directly to confirm.

We are looking forward to it.

      Spoke with Scitzz last night.
His and wifes attendance predicated on potential work availability for him on Sunday.
He knows not yet, if he will work.

kinda wish i could make this
i've seen some interesting stuff on this site
might motivate me to do something with this festiva other than run it to death... doubtful but possible
unfortunately i don't think this thing would survive the trip down there lol
100 miles of highway... i don't trust it to make it 30 without blowing up

          Blade,
Mount Airy is on my way to Lincolnton, I could slow down and pick you up along the road!
And if your festiva can't make 100 miles round, you need spend some quality time with it and she will take you anywhere!

lol it's mainly the fact that it's a 4speed car and when u run on the highway it sounds horribly like it's going to blow up
for all i know the thing might go from here to cali and back with no problems
i just don't trust it and wouldn't have any way to pick it up if something did happen
i'll have to see what i have going on this weekend might be able to find a way down there
probably wouldn't be staying all day but might be there for a while

              Hey Blade,

My daughter-in-law, JLock, has a 4 speed in her car and so does Sam.1956 and they have both been from NC to Ohio and back with them. 800+ miles round trip.

If you decide to try it, we will be leaving Raleigh about 7 Saturday morning and could meet you on the way across I-40. Also, if you think you might want to try it, let one of us know and we can send you a list of contact numbers in case you do have a problem. Or, you can always contact Pu241 as he offered. He should be coming down I-77.

Pfft. My 4 speed has made the trip to Raleigh twice, and OSX. And a fair bit of that driving was, um, slightly faster than the law allows. Yeah, it's a bit louder than my 5 speed. But so what? As long as I don't let anyone I know follow me (Those who know, know why I say this). Tho, that problem is on its way to being a thing of the past.

Wish I could make it, but gotta work. Everyone have a great time, and I'll see you all in October, if not sooner.

Lanemayer14: are those window regulators a pair? I could use new ones for each door in my Festy. If so, let me know the price and I'll work it out with you on how I can get them.
I won't be at 4thstiva due to having to work, (at least the last thing I was told Monday morning when I got off work). Unless something major has changed since then.
(Might have to head to Charlotte next week), I've been wanting to visit some of the NASCAR shops anyway! Ya'll have a good time this weekend!! Happy 4th to all!!

Yep, it's a pair of them. Can't remember if it's a set from one of my cars or a set from the jy...either way still a funtioning set.
Also, I found out today that I am definitely off on saturday and sunday so making the meet won't be a problem for me (except not having a festy!)

Edit: Angie or Will, do you have an address for the sonic so I can plug it into the gps? I've been there once before but really don't remember how I got there!

according to what i looked up when i mapped it out it's
                      1434 east main street
                      Lincolnton, NC 28092

and there are other issues with the car which is why i may not trust it to do this drive... i'll think about it but might try to borrow another car to get down there
we'll see if i will even be free i won't know till tomorrow for sure

I have seen 4 speed cars rev to 7500RPM's!!!!! They are tougher then you think.

Hey Blade- if you have other issues, that's a good reason not to take the car on a road trip. It's important to have the mechanicals right. There are several on here who would agree from experience. It doesn't really matter what you drive, but there will be several people there with a lot of Festiva knowledge there and it would be good to get to know them if you could make it. If not, maybe you can make Festiva Madness in Raleigh in October.

i know very very little about cars
there might not be anything wrong with it
i took a trip to hanging rock state park with it the other day
mostly back roads the way i went
i'd say 30-35 miles each way and had no issues whatsoever
i just worry about highway driving
i might plot out a backroads course where i can take longer and just enjoy the scenery

                              Blade (daywalker?),
You might consider a superposition of temporal and geographical coordinates resulting in two, or more vehicles with similar vector paths to Lincolnton.
In this way you and your vehicle enjoy a higher probability of arrival at the above mentioned location.
