  • Microcar meet May 27-29 Madison, GA

Anyone interested in getting a group of festivas together to join the Microcar meet at the Microcar Museum in Madison, Georgia on May 27-29th? I know this will be very close to, and even interrupting other meets (ohiostiva, spring festivaL in SC, and the Florida spring meet), but I just thought I would throw it out there. Would be great for anyone close that doesn't have plans for attending any of the other meets. Here is a link to the meet site...

Sounds like fun and a good opportunity to see a lot of cool cars!
Edit: Figured I would just copy the meet info here as well....
    May 27-29, 2011 Madison GA
    Microcar Reunion
Note: MICROS IN MADISON will NOT be held this year.
Instead there is a Microcar Meet organized by Larry Newberry on the Grounds of the Museum and in the surrounding area of Madison GA.

A Registration page will appear later just to get an idea of who is attending, check back later but there are NO Registration fees for this event and it is open to the public, more info below:
Meet will start Friday morning with registration at the Comfort Inn behind the Pizza Hut. Meet in parking lot of Comfort Inn and adjoining Hampton Inn. At noon we will convoy from Comfort Inn to downtown, where we will welcome back the all girls ride from Flordia. We will spend the afternoon in downtown area. The square will be roped off as before for our cars. Everyone is one there own to eat and enjoy the downtown area until 6pm. At which time we will convoy back to motel for our usual fellowship in the evening.

Saturday will begin with a drive to Bruce Weiner Museum at 9:30 am. The museum will be open all day for your enjoyment. There are games planned for you and your car on the grounds. We also will have a swap meet area. Be sure to bring any items that you having laying around. I am sure someone needs the very part that you will never use. Also we hope to have a couple vendors on the museum property to sell food items for your lunch on Saturday.

We have opened the whole show up to the public and advertised free rides to the kids on the test track at property on Saturday. With the understanding that the word kids includes anyone that would like to ride in a micro car.

While this is going on on Saturday, we will have a 100 mile drive for those of us that are really into driving our cars. This drive will leave out on Saturday morning at 10:30 from museum property and return back before 4 pm.

We will leave the museum property at 5pm and head back to the downtown area. We will again have the square area roped off and you can again show off cars, shop the downtown area and grab something to eat. Around 8 pm we will have a gathering on or near the square for our formal gathering of the meet. After all the discussions, we will again convoy back to the Comfort Inn for more fellowship.

Sunday morning we will gather in Comfort Inn parking lot and take a short drive in the country side around 9:30 am.

The meet this year is free with no charges for anything except for the 100 mile drive. We will limit it to 20 cars and there will be a $10 charge to go on this drive.
We hope everyone enjoys the new style show and the extra effort to include the public in the meet. However we want to continue the fellowship that brings us together.

This meet is being held by: Clay Holland and Larry Newberry
Sponsored by: Bruce Weiner Museum, Microcarlot, Microcar News,& Madison Ga

I'm too far and borked and sleepy, but takes pics, and I will look at them.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

I could make that.....I recommend the museum to anyone who loves small cars. Beautiful examples of cars I'd only seen in books...

You've been to the museum before? I've wanted to go for a while and figure this would be a great opportunity to see even more than what you would see in the museum alone.....plus we could show off some festies!

You've been to the museum before?
Yeah, I've been there a couple of times. It's about an hour and a half away and well worth the trip. Their website gives a good virtual tour as well. I drove the Baron there and was amused to find it was the biggest car around.

Hey guys,The actual micro car meet has been cancelled(we're members. And they made the anouncement in their last mag/newsletter).I think there is still going to be a "little" something going on there, though. Those cars in the museum make our festys look like lincoln town cars.Really tiny.Well worth the trip.

Yeah, the link says the "normal" meet is canceled, but they're still having a meet nonetheless. Still seems like they might have a good turnout though!
