  • Ohiostiva Fall Fling planning thread!

It's about time I beat Willie to this!

At the top of everyone's collective mind, of course, is FMV, which is scheduled for the first Saturday in October. So that date is taken, and I would think both the weekend before and after would be a poor time to hold Ohiostiva, even as small as we usually are.

So I move to have the Fall Fling on either the third or fourth Saturday of that month. That allows for enough time for folks to plan, plus two to three weeks after the BIG ONE down south to recuperate.

The only other possibility I see would be Saturday, September 17th. That puts it two weeks before FMV, if ya'll want really warmer weather.

I think the third Sat. in October (the 15th) would be best because it should not be too cold yet and it allows two weeks' breather after FMV.

For those who don't know or remember, we usually just meet at Summit Racing lot in Tallmadge, OH for an hour or two and then convoy about five miles to a local park where we chill and grill. Here's a link to directions to Summit:

My preference (if it matters!) would be for the following Saturdays, in order:

    October 15th (the third Sat.)
    October 22nd (the fourth Sat.)
October 8th (only one week after FMV, but maybe ya'll would like this?)
September 17th (two weeks before FMV)

I couldn't find how to do a poll, so maybe Willie will begin one and do this the right way! :p

    Discuss, argue, ruminate and/or espouse!

Since I'm planning to be at FM5, chances are I won't make it to ohiostiva, although time will tell

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I'll be there, I'll bring the usual hot dogs and buns!

any of those dates but October 15th will work for me, my dad's birthday is the 14th so we will probably have a cookout the 15th.

Due to Aaron's schedule, let's redo the order:

          October 22nd (the fourth Sat.)
October 8th (only one week after FMV, but maybe ya'll would like this?)
September 17th (two weeks before FMV)
October 15th (the third Sat., but Nerd can't make it)

(He was present at the last Fall Fling, and he posted, so he should get some recognition in the potential dates.)

We have from one to two months till the meet! Any questions, ask.

Chris, you don't have to be at the Fling as long as you show up at FMV with your "three cylinder."

 well if the fall fling is 2+ weeks after FM5, there'd be a slight chance of me making it, but I won't know until the time comes, so don't plan around my schedule

Because FMV is held in Raleigh, NC!

And you should reconsider, last year the official count was 66 cars (Aspires and Festivas) and we expect to better that this year!
You will miss a truly great time too!
So good in fact many people take multiple days of vacation for it!!!!!!!!!
