  • Ohiostiva Fall 2011 Preparation Thread

The Fall Fling is happening on Saturday, October 22nd this year. As always, we'll meet at Summit Racing parking lot and then convoy a short distance to a local park (about ten or fifteen minutes away) for a cookout.

Here is a map of the Summit Racing area:

Essentially, Summit is off I-76 at the Southeast Ave. (532) exit. You can see the big sign from the freeway. Shopping is encouraged! You can also go to their site and order stuff to pick up that day:

Car parts for modern & classic cars. Jeep & truck accessories. Street performance & off-road parts. Mechanic tools & shop equipment. Free shipping on $109 orders.

We'll meet up starting around 11am (you can come a bit earlier if you want) and when we get good and hungry (probably between noon and 1pm) we'll go to Munroe Falls Metro Park, which is north of Summit. We take Southeast Ave. north to the traffic circle, then north on North Ave. (91). Then turn right on S. River Rd. and then another right into the park. You can follow all this on the map linked to above, which is what I just did!

If you couldn't do that, here is the park on the same Google map:

It's nice because we always cookout beside the lake. Last fall we had a C-130 flyover for our amusement! Maybe they'll send Spooky this year!

So now we need to know who is coming and what you can bring to the cookout!

Cut and paste what I've begun and add the following:

Your name and number of guests.
What you can bring food or grill wise.

That's really about it. This is a simple, small meet, so nothing to stress over!

    I'll begin:

    1. Safety Guy Karl (plus my Dad?); charcoal stuff, 4 burgers and maybe some chicken, plastic plates & wares, etc.
    2.
    3.
    4.

Now add on to the list and begin the anticipation!

    Karl

                    SC72,
You making the trip from Iowa just to see us?
Let me see if I can contact Levitan and see if he'd be interested in convoying with you all.

                    Link5186,
You need a place to stay?
                    No GF/Wife?

Zulu Ministries opens it doors to almost all Festiva/Aspire owners in need of accommodations.
Often this results in a pre-meet.

Area 241 will be open for travelers.

Good morning Sir, yes we are going to make the pilgrimage and looking forward to putting some names with faces. i would like to know more about the pre-meet, sounds like a great way to get a head start on the meet.

Getting ahold of the Midwest Supper Model, well i have found it best to call later in the evening 8/9 pm. Dan landed a construction job this spring and is putting in a LOT of hours and in his words he is making some serious coin.

We will be looking for accommodations relatively close to the meet, can you recommend a landing spot.
An idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it.

Karl, Rev. Jack's place has been the traditional Lodge serving both Saints and Philistines since 2004 or so. It's located in Bridgeport, OH. Contact Zulu Ministries if you wish to have information straight from the horse's...ummm...mouth.

Also Karl, I haven't gone to Woody's lately to check on that LX. Maybe the next few days?
