  • Laguna Seca in June???

There had been some interest expressed in the Tweaks You Tube Debut thread about having a meet at or around Laguna Seca this June. Has anyone looked into this any further? We're planning a West Coast road trip in the Festiva in early June and would love to join up with any meets along the way.

I haven't had the chance to research yet, I was just going to find an existing club meet or track day we could participate in. The track is at a state park with lots of land and parking so a meet there will be easy, but renting the track just for our use would be extremely pricey. If anyone else has the time to do some research on track days and existing events please feel free to do it.

Might it be possible to get with some other group that has a meet there, and piggyback on their meet? Splitting the costs appropriately.

I gotta research how far of a drive it is for me, it sounds like too much fun to pass up

        1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
        1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. What's cool is that Mazda is a corporate sponsor of Laguna seca raceway and there are quite a few Mazda events every year. Luckily, our cars are technically Mazda cars, making us eligible to participate.

Okay, I did a little research but haven't made any calls yet. June is an expensive month to drive Laguna Seca, we can expect to pay around 200 a day to get on the track, and that's with a club. I believe entry onto the facility will be free, so those who just want to watch and go for a ride along or two will be able to do so for free or very cheap. We can probably get a better price a different time of the year as June through August are the high season for northern California and that is reflected in the price of everything.
