it's not me. i would drive wherever. it's talking my wife into riding in it all the way there. she doesn't trust it and will not let me go alone. she wears the pants i am still talking her up on it. so i have my fingers crossed.

We cruise at 70-75, and yes some of the cars in our convoy do not get 40 mpg anymore.

Id like to work on your car before the trip. I have tons of spare parts.

The FL crew just keeps growing!
Matt, 13 hours is no excuse. I just drove an unknown Festiva for 3 days straight from N.C. to Phoenix, and I had never seen the car in person before I left. I cruised around 80 mph most of the way. These are tough little cars. My 93 auto shakes at 55ish, it's smooth at 65 though. I hope to see you at madness.

Sounds like a very productive pre-meet to me!

Matt, just take notes and get as many things fixed before you leave for Greg's place. Make sure the parts are available and you have enough time. You don't want to miss FMVI!

I haven't got it over 55 mph yet. All city driving.

Florida crew probably cruises at near 75 MPH when they don't have to stop every 150 miles for someone to refuel.

Knowing that bunch, they probably cruise around 211mph :p

i just got it running ok and have been trying to drive it a little every day.
it doesn't drive so good in the rain and does the florida crew like driving 50 mph all the way there.
it takes me 7 hrs with the festiva to get to jacksonville, fl, alone.to meet up with florida crew.

I stand corrected, Destin, FL is farther out than I thought.
But nearly 13 hrs seems a bit long too.
I got 11:39 when I checked Yahoo maps.

What keeps you at 50 MPH?
Admittedly, on my own, I cruise at 60 MPH for MPG purposes.
