  • 4th Annual NorthEast Capri Gathering - Sept. 29th

I know this is pretty close to FM6 for some of you guys, but I figured I'd throw it up for anyone interested anyway. Yes it's a Capri meet, however the Festiva is a close relative and anyone wanting to attend is welcome!

We have a real casual meet:
-Meet for Coffee & Donuts 10-10:30 AM, gearhead/chat for a bit
-Hit the road by Noon, lots of photo-ops along the way
    -Stop for lunch 3-4
-Reach our destination, take photos, etc.
-Disperse, or go for dinner & drinks, continue at the hotel afterwards, etc.

The night before we usually end up gearheading, working on cars, and going for some late night coffee while taking as many twisty backroads as possible

We'll be meeting Saturday, September 29th at 10AM at the Delaware Water Gap Welcome Center off I-80 in Pennsylvania. Last year we ended up at High Point, NJ as our cruise destination, I'm going to try to stick to that again this year if I can. There's a lot of construction/detours I need to work around.

So if you're interested, please reply here or RSVP on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/events/364071000330907/

As usual I will have my lineup of parts for sale, including discounted Rocketchips, used Capri/B6T stuff on request. Russ @ Roo-sport.com will have all manner of new/used Ford/Mazda parts for sale as well.

    Hope to see you there!

Wish I could make it this year Matt. That's crazy that you had all those Capris show up and not one of them was red! Red is the most popular color out here. I'll plan for it next year. May have to tow a festiva with the Capri or vice versa and go to both meets in one shot. lol.

        Heh, that would be cool!

It's funny - in 2010 half the Capris were red, and no white! We thought the color mix was quite unusual as well.

what body kit is on that darker blue car? I like that. We have a black one in the yard out here now, don't see black very often. I've seen a lot of teal ones, but they are seldom in the salvage yards. I bet the red ones were driven harder so they get junked first. My car has a red hard top, until I paint it, and there is a girl in town who has a red N/A car with a white top, and we were right next to each other at a light once and she didn't even seem to notice that our cars were exact opposites. I was pretty excited about it.

The dark blue car has 1994 bumpers, Razzi sideskirts, genuine aussie Tickford/Clubsprint bubbletop and a SSV "F40" rear spoiler. The spoiler and bubbletop are really rare pieces, there aren't more than 3 of each known in the US. It's a really slick car in person - painted Corvette Electron Metallic Blue. The car was originally a 1994 nonturbo which was abused pretty hard - it threw a rod 27 miles after picking it up. So I ended up doing a full turbo conversion to it with a 9.4:1 compression longblock - it goes pretty well. One of the better cruising Capris I've built/driven.

Some people just don't know or care what they're driving...
