  • SOUTHWEST FESTIVA-FEST: Official Thread.

WHERE: Beautiful Las Vegas Nevada (Tourism capital of the WORLD)
WHEN: Friday April 12- Sunday April 14

    Details:

Finally a Festy meet close to those of us in the Southwest/West coast of the US. EVERYONE is invited! If you have never been to Vegas, then this is a great chance to see why Las Vegas is the tourism capital of the world. I'm working to get us a parking lot to meet at. (I've talked to a car parts store 2 blocks off of the strip, and also the parks authority, to see if we could maybe book a park). What could be better than a pile of Festivas dragging the Las Vegas strip together on a Saturday night? I have already talked to reservations at "The Quad" Las Vegas (Formerly Imperial Palace). They are willing to give us a group rate, as long as we have 3+ rooms. This play is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the strip. From your room, you will look out at Caesar's Palace, Bellagio, Mirage! 3 weekend nights for only $100-$130 for a double bed room! The Quad is also home to LAS VEGAS AUTO COLLECTION, which entrance is FREE, and they host the worlds largest collection of collector cars, that are all for sale! Everything from Johnny Carson's first car, to 1910 Roll's Royce worth in the MILILONS! Even if you live far away fly in and come spend an awesome weekend with fellow festiva nuts.

Prizes will be awarded for: Longest distance traveled, highest mileage festiva, lowest mileage, Best interior, Best exterior, and PEOPLE'S CHOICE!

Post here if you are going to be able to join us!

This is the view from my room at The Quad when I was there in November:

    SOUTHWEST FESTIVA-FEST: Official Thread.

    Sorry too far for me

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

This far out, there are MANY discount options for airfare. The Las Vegas Airport is 5 minutes from the strip by Taxi, and I'm sure if you don't want to get a rental car, somebody can pick you up in a Shiny Festiva!

SWEET! Enough interest, I'll make it happen. Already talked to a trophy shop. Maybe even do T-shirts (at cost). I'm hoping some of the So-Cal people, and AdvancedDynamix chime in that they are going to make it!

It's about a 1000 mile drive and probably 20+ hours in the Festiva. My son, grandson and I plan on driving the little baby down. Anyone from WA, ID or OR who would like to meet up and caravan with us would be welcome.
