I say lets do it in April as planned. Some people may want to go to Festiva Madness in October and would have to choose between FM and this one.

Lets see if we can make it back into double digits this year! We had 4 Festivas in '08, 5 in '09, 10 in '10, 5 in '11 and 4 Festivas and a Subaru Vivio last year!
Meets are not started with 100 cars. It is slowly built up to. That and there are 10x the number of festiva owners on the east side of America than on the west side. The meets will be larger. Lets start a tradition here on the west side!

Hi, I just joined this site last week, and posted a thread to introduce myself and to see if there were any upcoming events in my area ( Santa Cruz, Ca). I was directed to this thread, and my girlfriend's favorite band is playing in Vegas on the same weekend as your proposed meet.

So far the turnout looks dismal. I am not sure that this event will even happen, but if it does, I would like to know more about when, where, how, the cost, etc. If it does NOT happen, I would like to know about any future events. (The band is GWAR, playing Friday night 12 April at the Hard Rock Cafe, 3771 South Las Vegas Blvd. Bring a change of clothes.).

OK... I haven't been on the site in over a week. I have been down for the count sick. I'm really sorry, but I don't think this is going to happen. We will have to shoot for some time later on in the year. Again, my sincerest apologies.

I hope you get better soon! Sorry to hear you got sick.

I'm still going to go if you want to have a super mini meet. We can lay the foundation for future sw meets.! Last I heard drummerd was coming and I'm pretty excited to see his build. Bolokid hasn't backed out yet and he has possibly 2 festivas, xfse71 hasn't backed out. That brings our total to 5 with uncle fester. Not too terrible for a first meet.

Whew, that being said(sorry to take over this thread) who still wants to go!

Re: SOUTHWEST FESTIVA-FEST: OFFICIAL ROLL CALL

Well i was planning on it till it seemed to be not happening, then saw that it was canceled so my girl already had off and was gonna visit family while there so we are still coming but not in the festiva now:banghead: I already set up to drive our edge so I could pick up a jet boat in California I had set up a while back and needed to get.... I guess I can see if could cancel that till another time but I will be in Vegas either way. Worst case I still would like to meet everybody and see there cars even if i don't have mine with me.

I cancelled request for vacation from work. Let me see what I can do.

We have the 91 just about set to roll. We put in new CV joints, front struts, wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends and stabilizer bar bushings. Going to replace a few valve adjusters and charge the a/c this coming weekend. I am also putting the finishing touches on the Professional Rustoleum Rattle Can Red paint touch up. If we are able to make it to Las Vegas the 89 may have to come as is.

Where would we meet up? Any drives or other activities planned?

                    Thanks.

I'm not famillar with the area but drummer is, I'm sure he knows some A scenic places for good photo ops. I hope I can get my ac fixed up by next week. I will be getting the windows tinted next week too!

Yeah I lived there for only 3 years but my girl lived there for 17 years so she knows everything about that city.

I'm still up for it. This weekend: new lower control arms, stabilizer bar bushings, rear struts & mounts, tune-up & oil change. Swap my 12"s for my "new" junkyard 13"s on Monday or Tuesday, alignment... and ready to ROLL! It will take some serious smoke and mirrors to arrange the time off for myself AND my G.F. Plus, it seems like we have no leader! Where do we meet? Is there an event calendar? Will we all just hang around in the parking lot?

Let's DO this thing! CMON, guys and girls! 5 is a party! Maybe TheresGabe will be nursed back to health, after all?

I'm hoping drummerd can use his and his girlfriends experience in Vegas. To help coordinate some of it. In the other thread he was talking about a hotel just off the strip for a pretty good price. No event calender as of yet but think of it as being open to ideas.
