Y'all were probably wondering where this was and sorry to be so late putting it up.
Meet Basics:
We are moving the meet again this year, but not far. It will be at the Char-Grill (location of FM2) and about 2 miles south of the O'Reillys. O'Reilly's has invited us back, but the move is based on space because there are new businesses open in the shopping center on Saturday Mornings.
Address for Char Grill is 4621 Atlantic Avenue, Raleigh NC. Time: 11-3.
First, while we supply the food for the cookout, we ask everyone to bring their own drinks. There will be a couple of coolers for icing them down.
Second, bring along folding chairs for hanging out at the meet.
Third, While the main food source is the Char Grill where we will be meeting, there are several other food options available in the shopping center next door - Philly Steak, Mexican, Chinese, Korean and across the road, there is a Sonic. Just in case, you want something different.
Most other details will remain the same as the last couple of years. Cookout at Smedley's house on Friday evening for anyone who is in town and wants to come hang out. I have no clue what will be happening, but usually someone's car will be getting worked on.
If you haven't been before, my address is 6701 Johnsdale Rd., Raleigh.
Also, breakfast at Golden Corral on Sunday morning for anyone interested in eating breakfast before leaving town.
New this year ???
We are adding a Poker Run Saturday morning. Many folks have wanted to convoy, but with Raleigh traffic it has been increasingly hard to do, so we are planning the Poker Run to allow small groups of Festivas to convoy from stop to stop around points in town.
If you want to play, the starting point will be the O'Reilly's, 5610 Altantic Avenue, (where we held FM6.) Folks can sign up at the start point for $5.00 and get a playing card and directions anytime from 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday morning. The ending point will be the Char Grill and winner will receive 1/2 the pot. Size all depends on how many people play. If you don't know what a poker run is, let me know.
Question: I need to guage interest in playing. Would you be interested?
There will be awards similar to last year: Farthest Traveled, Highest Mileage, Lowest Mileage, Bad Luck Award, Best Beater and of course Fan Favorite. Remember, Fan Favorite and Best Beater are voted on by attendees. Each vote cost $1.00, all money to American Heart Association in memory of our founder Dean Allen. You may vote as many times as you wish. You never know who it's going to be. FM6's Fan Favorite was FM5's Best Beater.
As always, there will free meet t-shirts for anyone who drives a Festiva or Aspire. Extras will be $10.00 each.
More details will be added later. Please copy and paste the sign up post below and add your name and shirt size if you are planning to come. Hope to see all my friends soon. Come, hang out, eat, check out some awesome cars and meet a bunch of Festiva nuts.
