  • 4TH Annual NCStiva planning thread

Kartracer has requested that I handle the coordination of NCStiva until such time that he can resume the duties. So, with that in mind, I guess it is past time to start planning, no?

Now, Team lightning has announced The second annual GA Carolina meet for the last weekend of April, so I don't think that weekend or the bracketing ones would be a good call. May is a tough month for our family with so many birthdays, but mine falls in the early part of the month, and what better Bday present than a meet? Still, I would like to see this happen when most can attend. It also needs to be warm enough.

Location can also be determined by consensus. I have a couple of ideas.

Char Grill in Raleigh. One NCStiva has been held there, and Madness as well. Central location, good food all around, and they welcome us.

Possibly the Oreilly's parking lot, which has also been a Madness location.

Another possibility is Eno River State Park.

Different spots for recreation/picnics, and camping if we want to make it a weekend thing.

There has even been some interest in maybe finding a drag strip to go to sometime the same weekend? I know there is one about 40 minutes North of Eno River.

In the past, this has always been a very laid back meet, time for friends to get together, and shoot the breeze while munching some burgers and dogs.

    So, for possible dates.

    April 4-5-6 weekend

    April 11-12-13 weekend

May 9-10-11 weekend (My Birthday is the 10th)

    May 16-17-18 weekend

We could do a Saturday, a Sunday, or, if enough interest the entire weekend.

    Lets get to planning!

All the meet locations are in the vicinity of Raleigh, NC.

May is going to be a bit tricky for me as well - final exam, brother getting married, etc. But I'm sure going to try to make it whenever it is!

North Carolina baby! Come on over!

No, really, as skeeters_keeper stated, Char grill and Oreilly's are in Raleigh, and have been host to other meets. Eno River has a link in the original post, and there is a map. North west Durham, basically. Very pretty park. Lots to do there.
