Madness is a couple weeks away, and some of us will be driving thousands of miles to get to Raleigh. Post up your route and estimated travel schedule. That way we can organize meet ups that may be possible. Also, this will be a good way for all the different convoys to post progress.

Mad Dash 2015
Mad Dash will be leaving El Cajon California at approximately 9am on Sunday Sept. 27th. We will be taking I8 to Phoenix, then I 17 to Flagstaff, then I 40 to North Carolina. The first night we will stay in Flagstaff AZ. We plan on getting to Raleigh by Friday Oct. 2nd. What happens in between Flagstaff and Raleigh is to be determined.Last edited by Advancedynamix; 09-22-2015, 01:01 PM.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Am I Crazy for doing this?
Plans are to leave Pasco, WA Sunday, 9/27 and take I-84 though Boise, ID and onto Ogden, UT. Probably going to spend the night in Ogden. Then pick up I-80 to Cheyenne, WY and pick up I-25 to Denver. In Denver take I-70 and head towards St. Louis, will probably stop in Limon on Monday night. Take I-70 to I-64 and head for Lexington, KY. Maybe spend Wednesday night in Lexington. Then take 75 to Oak Ridge, TN and then I-40 to Raleigh. If all goes well I have a motel reserved in Raleigh for Thursday night. I still have stock seats in my Festiva, I am dreading sore butt syndrome. Total = 2840 miles, one way.Last edited by bolokid; 09-22-2015, 01:45 PM.

BTW Bolokid, if you can snag an Aspire seat cushion in the JY, that will help noticeably.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

Not enough time to do much more to the car. We changed the oil and replaced the rear struts last week, replaced the speedo cable with housing (it is oh so quiet now) and then greased and replaced the rear wheel bearings last night. I hope to change the antenna so I can use the radio but if not I'll just sing to myself. If I can get to the JY that's a possibility, if not then I'll take one of my wife's new memory foam pillows off of the bed.
