  • Festiva Madness X Info

The Tenth Annual Festiva Madness, FMX, will be held on October 1st 2016 in Raleigh NC. There is an entire weekend of Festivities so be sure to plan accordingly! At this time, the location is expected to be Oreilly Auto Parts parking lot on Atlantic Ave. If that should change for some reason, the meet will still be in the same vicinity to allow hotel planning to be unaffected.

More info can be found on Facebook or on FestivaMadness.com

We can use this Post as a way to show who is going just to see how many people are going.

Also Congratulations to Sarah and Dennis

I'm not sure on that one, I just made this because we were talking about a Madness Sign up post and we couldn't find one. If we want to use this post as the Official Sign up page that is fine with me. I'm not sure who usually runs them and keeps track of everything but I don't mind helping if it is needed.

I still have questions about stuff like, Should we bring anything? Where can we donate money for the event? Is there an entry fee? Who runs Madness? Do I need to wear a Tuxedo T-Shirt for the wedding?

Perfectly acceptable. Tie dye is also incredibly appropriate.

I will have a sign up thread started in a few days. Finalizing location first. Sorry for the delay, been pretty swamped with other things

Oh, and for answers to other questions. We have a committee that plans Madness, basically Smedley gives final approval on everything and hosts after meet Festivaties at her house. She kind of handed the major planning reigns to me and my wife a couple years ago. My wife, Warchild, never really on here, is the one who makes all the memes, and does probably 80% of the planning the last few years. We are joined by my daughter and some of her friends in so far as feeding people, cleaning up etc. The committee is made up of other members as well. It rotates, usually locals.

There is never an entry fee, Tshirts are one to each driver of a Festiva for free, extras made available for purchase, so far $10 each, and that is probably gonna stay the same. My daughter has designed the last few, and she prints them with Smedley and her friend.

The planning thread will go up same time as the sign up thread. We will have a sign up there for people willing to bring items and help with cleanup etc. I might have another official "Madness Project" lining up in the form of another engine swap to help someone who needs it. We will see, that is up in the air for a few more days as well.

The location will probably be changing from Oreilly's, but if so, will be less than a mile away. The wedding is having us move for more room Gonna be great!

There is at least one BIG surprise to be announced.

Donations are always welcomed but never solicited. I usually spring for the food. We sell some merchandise to help cover the cost of the event, bracelets etc. Tshirts sold last year finance the free ones this year etc.

If you look for me, I will be the rotund goofy looking dude with a goatee running around everywhere looking at all the cars I can and answering as many queries as possible about where items are at Smedleys house

I hope that helps! We are pushing hard to finalize all the info and to have the threads up ASAP!

We need to have some fun with the Big Surprise.
                    I'll post the first guess:
Scitzz and his team have persuaded Jay Leno to show up in one of his Shogun Festivas for Madness X.

I asked that on the Facebook page, they said that they have tried to contact him many times before to come out for one with no success.

I think that I seen somewhere that they are going to be raffling off a car or something like that but I can't find a post of facebook that says that so I might be mistaken.

In any case, the big event will really be the "Festiva Wedding of the Century" which we are all looking forward to.
My wife and I just celebrated our 47th this past Tuesday... My best wishes for you and Sarah to be as lucky.
Looking forward to the ceremony... and the many pictures to follow.

A general question are there any camping facilities nearby, or any recommended low rate rendezvous motels or ragged places where we ragged people go?

Thinking about going to Madness, and speaking of "going", a little worried about encountering hostile "bathroom law" politics up there in NiC, even though I've been, or thought I was legally a woman for more than 30 years now.

                          any info appreciated-
any empty mangers for God's crucified and frankly returning nick SON? htd
                          I'll bring the frank Incense.

Maybe Firebush wants to save some bucks and go halvsies on the bridal suite?

There a few campgrounds around, but most of them lock gates early,so the last few years, we have had campers in my back yard. Right now, I have either 2 or 3 campers, I can probable handle one more. There is not a lot of flat space, so campingspace is limited. Let me know.

                              Perfect Weather

Just checked the 10 day forecast for Raleigh and it looks like we are in for perfect weather there next weekend.
Highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's, partly cloudy to sunny and only a 10% chance of rain.

Quite a difference from last year when I had to cancel my trip at the last minute be cause of the downpour and flooding in my area.
